Movement you keep, not a season of effort.
An hour of guided physical conditioning, twice a week, designed so that people arriving from very different starting points can all train together.
A session follows the same shape each time: joint mobility to open, then strength and posture work, then balance, then stretching and breathing to close. Nothing is done at high impact and nothing is measured against anyone else. The instructor adjusts the load exercise by exercise, so two people side by side may be doing the same movement at very different intensities.
The aim is not a transformation. It is to keep a body that works: one that gets up off the floor easily, carries what it needs to carry, and does not ache after a morning in the garden.

Six things that improve first.
Members tend to notice them in roughly this order, over the first couple of months.
Joint mobility
Knees, hips, shoulders and spine worked through their full range every session. Mobility is the first thing lost with a sedentary routine and the first thing to come back.
Posture and back
Work on the deep trunk muscles that hold the spine. Most of the back complaints people arrive with come from weakness and habit rather than from damage.
Balance
Standing on one leg, changing direction, recovering a stumble. Trained deliberately, because falls are what most often end an independent old age.
Strength you can use
Getting up from the floor, carrying the shopping, climbing the steps of Garachico without stopping. Everything we train has an equivalent outside the hall.
Breathing and heart
Low-impact cardiovascular work at a pace you can hold a conversation through. No jumping, no competition, no times on a board.
Company
Twice a week, the same faces, in your own village. For a good number of members this turns out to matter as much as the exercise.
Who the class is for.
There is no minimum condition to meet. The group is mixed by age and by starting point, and that is deliberate.
- Adults who have not trained for years and would rather not start in a gym.
- Older people who want to stay independent and steady on their feet.
- Anyone with a desk job whose neck, shoulders and lower back pay for it.
- People returning to activity after a quiet period, at a sensible pace.
If you are recovering from an injury or being treated for a condition, tell the instructor before the first session so the exercises can be adapted. If in doubt, check with your doctor first.

Mornings or evenings, Mondays and Wednesdays.
Two groups with the same content, so you can choose the slot that fits around work or family.
